Baby Isabella couldn’t wait to get into the world…

BABY Isabella was in such a hurry to get into the world that she could not wait for her parents Mato and Marina Posavac to head off for the hospital – or even leave their St Albans house.
The couple’s third child was born in their toilet about 4.30am on Wednesday 23 January after a labour of about just two hours.
“No one can believe it,” Ms Posavac said.
The mother-of-three said her contractions started to come every 10 minutes about 10pm and she called the midwife later on in the evening, who said to phone again when they were closer to three or four minutes apart.
The house was in darkness and the couple’s two sons, nine-year-old Nicholas and three-year-old Jakob, were in bed when she awoke about 2.30pm.
Ms Posavac said she decided to call the midwife later in the morning because the boys, her husband and mother-in-law were fast asleep and Sunshine Hospital is “just around the corner”.
However, Ms Posavac also felt a need to visit the bathroom.
But when she sat on the toilet, the unexpected happened – Isabella had decided this was her moment.
“Then I was like, ’oh my gosh’,” Ms Posavac said.
“I sort of grabbed her and I gave one big push and that was it.
“I heard her crying so I thought, ’that means she’s breathing’.”
The surprised mother remembers holding onto her newborn as she opened the toilet door and called her husband.
“I thought no way would the baby be born that quickly, when the boys took six to seven hours,” Ms Posavac said.
“But she had other plans.”
Mr Posavac called paramedics, who arrived and cut the umbilical cord before taking Ms Posavac to hospital to treat anaemia after she lost a lot of blood.
“I think I was still in shock a couple of days later,” Mr Posavac said.
“It was amazing that she gave birth by herself.”
When she was born, little Isabella was 50cm long, weighed 3.6 kilos and her head’s circumference was 36cm.
Her oldest brother Nicholas suggested they name her Isabella, because his mother is a fan of the Twilight movies which features a main character named Bella.
