BRIMBANK residents are invited to share their family stories, history, traditions and even recipes, as part of the city’s 150th celebrations next year.
Council is encouraging members of the community to come forward with interesting stories about their family, which will be put on display at the Brimbank Festival in 2011.
The festival will commemorate 150 years of local government and will include a float, which will replicate the original float featured in the 1952 parade that celebrated the proclamation of Sunshine.
Children are also being asked to decorate their bikes and take part in the parade.
In May this year, council marked the anniversary of the establishment of local government and plans to host a ‘Year of Celebration’ in the Sunshine district to commemorate the milestone.
