Residents take park redevelopment plans to heart

COMMUNITY members have embraced plans to redevelop Trafalgar Avenue Park following Hobsons Bay City Council’s adoption of the park’s master plan.
The master plan includes plans to extend the existing park, provision of a sheltered picnic and barbecue area, a junior play area, circuit paths, exercise stations, a half basketball court, climbing wall, native grassland education area, and improved water-wise landscaping, including additional tree plantings.
Altona Meadows Ward councillor Carl Marsich was pleased with the response from community members.
“The draft Trafalgar Avenue Park Master Plan went on public exhibition back in February and the council was delighted with the community’s response,” he said.
“An on-site information day was well attended and a number of submissions were received.”.
The master plan will be implemented over two stages with the first stage including a picnic and barbecue area, and the second stage including open space for ball games.

The Mayor of Hobsons Bay Councillor Leigh Hardinge said the Council was committed to providing an abundance of open space and recreational areas for the community to enjoy.
