Thomas’ lawyer quits

By Kirsty Ross
WERRIBEE father-of-three Jack Thomas must find a new solicitor for his defence team as he fights terrorism-related charges, after his lawyer withdrew from the case last week.
Mr Thomas was due to stand trial in the Victorian Supreme Court last week after pleading not guilty to intentionally receiving funds from a terrorist organisation and possessing a falsified Australian passport.
Last Tuesday, Lex Lasry, QC, said his instructing solicitor, Rob Stary, could no longer act on Thomas’ behalf because he might be required to give evidence as a witness in the case, it was reported.
Mr Stary declined to comment.
