BRIMBANK City Council adopted the Strengthening Community Leadership in Brimbank Action Plan 2014-’17 at last week’s ordinary council meeting.
The plan is part of council’s commitment to delivering community leadership programs and initiatives over the next four years.
Through the action plan, Brimbank Council will deliver existing and new council capacity building programs to the community with the purpose of providing leadership, fostering community participation, and improving the quality of life for its citizens.
“Since being introduced in 2010, our community leadership programs have been a great success, attracting interest from people across the municipality, with many participants having gone on to use the skills they have gained to form new community committees, become involved in council advisory committees, or simply increase their engagement with the community as a result,” Chair of Brimbank Administrators, John Watson said.
Leadership programs are conducted annually and open to all community members to apply to participate.
